ScanDimensions was on the front page of the Rockford Register Star today! That means that there was also a huge picture of me working around the 3-D imaging camera. Diana Hughs, a popular vlogger on YouTube, owns the home and was also featured in the article. I think all that were involved found learning about and seeing this new technology in action a unique experience. And it was fun for me to show off what we’re doing over at ScanDimensions!
As I did for my first scan, I showed up a few minutes early to give myself extra time to set up (mess with) the tripod. Side note: the tripod takes me a while – I’m still a novice with that persnickety little thing. In those few minutes I got to talk to Diana and she showed me around the house. She’s a luxury handbag virtuoso and I love shoes, so we figuratively traded cards while waiting for the reporter and photographer to show up.
Part of the reason I chose to go into Public Relations was that I like being the person behind the curtain rather than the actor out on the stage. Meaning, I’d rather write/instruct what a client should say to the press instead of me doing the talking. I’m a Nervous Nellie when it comes to public speaking, so even this made me anxious. But having Ben, the writer, and Max, the photographer, there turned out to be not so bad. All four of us got to play hide-and-seek with the camera; it was fun having company for a change!
As seen in the picture, I was wearing heels. This is something that is not normally done while taking scans; nice, comfortable flats were put on after Max left. That’s this weeks’ disclaimer.
We’ve made our way into traditional media. So start spreading the news, we’re leaving to scan more houses today.
