Featured Scan Week of July 6th

Featured Scan Week of July 6th

Good news: our story in the newspaper led to all things positive for us, including receiving calls for scans from realtors we haven’t worked with before. We’re very excited by this, and have decided that each week we will pick our favorite homes that we did scans of and showcase it here on our blog.

The home I chose for this week’s featured scan is in Arlington Heights, Illinois and is listed under Kathy Barkulis. From both a scanning perspective and a wishful buyer perspective, I loved everything about this house.

My first impression when walking into the home was its wonderful and functional layout. The front door leads into the great room – the centermost part of the I-shaped house. To the left, or south end, is a large dining room with an opening to a charming closed-in porch. Toward the front of that end of the house is its pristine kitchen with beautiful white cabinets and black countertops. It was even decorated with a purple orchid – my favorite flower – earning bonus points from me. There’s also a small, yet handy, powder room off the kitchen.

The floors are probably my favorite part of the whole home. They’re a dark wood that gives the home a warm, homey feel. The color on the walls also help achieve that ambiance; the home was colorful throughout, but not to a point where it’s off-putting. Rather, the chosen colors seem thoughtful with a comforting feel.

All three of the home’s bedrooms are located on its north end. Each of the rooms is of considerable size and, like the rest of the house, well staged. The bedrooms shared the only full bathroom in the house. The bathroom, with Jack and Jill sinks and large shower, had an airy and relaxed mood to it.

Not only was this house my top pick of the week, it may be my favorite of all the scans I’ve done so far. The openness of the house made it exceptionally easy to navigate with the camera, and it also allowed for me to be extra methodical on where to place the camera to get the best angles. During the last scans in the final room, I felt somewhat sad that I’d soon be done with the scan. Sound weird? Sorry, but I’m not really sorry.

Until next week!
